We have highly qualified teachers who range from diploma holders to Masters degree holders. Most of our teachers are examiners with the national Examinations booard (ZIMSEC)

Chibuwe High School opened its doors in 1979. The school had 15 teachers and 250 students mostly boarders. The first headmaster was Mr Nelson Bangidza Dhliwayo who led the school till 1995 where as the first SDC chair person was Mr Gideon Kaiboni.
The first head-boy was Thokozani Mapindu 1979 to 1981 followed by Needmore Maposa (who is the current head) from 1982 to 1983. Chibuwe High School was a bilateral secondary school offering both form 1 (academic subjects) and form 2 (practical subjects). The enrolment quickly swelled as some students from Gideon Mhlanga Sec School were redeployed to the school to accommodate form 2 streams as Gideon Mhlanga was commencing a five year secondary education programme.
The school now has an enrolment of over 1600 learners, with about 900 of them being boarder learners. The school also has a staff establishment of over 70 teachers.
The resolve in the school, determination and oneness of purpose are the magical wend that forms the driving force behind the current success of the school.

Learners can do Computer science at O level and pursue the same at Advanced level. This is an interesting field with vast opportunities in the world of ICT
Many students went on to venture into entrepreneurship after going through practical training in Building, woodworl and metal wrok.
Food technlogy and Textile technology are among the trending practical subjects. Learners are equipped with life skills as well as preparation for tertiary education
The school also offers Hexco exam courses like Computer Operations and Packages, Information Communication Technlogy Fundamentals, Horticulture, Brick and Block laying
